Those who reside in South Devon know that the Totnes Night Market is about as much fun as one can have on a weeknight in December. Billed as a showcase of local and regional producers – selling gifts and refreshments of every imaginable kind – the event inevitably turns into a de-facto street party year on year.
The town’s high street and market square hosts an innumerable number of stalls, meaning all tastes are catered for. With mulled cider (or indeed mulled apple juice) in hand, revellers were delighted by performances from folk musicians, magicians, Morris sides, and entertainers. Those with any amount of time on their hands, even managed to get some Christmas shopping done!
Naturally, such an extensive outdoor event means a huge number of consessions requiring temporary power. In the past cables had been run from local civic buildings, but with the event growing in size year-on-year it was finally decided that a generator was required. dB Production Services supplied this from our own stock, and installed a complex network of distribution equipment to bring electricity to over 50 stalls. With such a large attendance of shoppers, complex cable runs were handled with ingenuity – meaning no unsafe trip hazards. We also supplied site lighting and standby electrician services to the client.
