Now in it’s glorius 4th year, the South West’s muddiest weekend returned to the stunning setting of Escot park near Ottery St Mary. Blessed by a relatively rain-free two days, thousands of fool hardy racegoers competed in teams to finish either a 5, 10, or 15k course featuring fearsome obstacles and challening trail runs. You own a pub with a beautiful garden. You love rock music. You’re venue doesn’t have a mains power supply. What do you do?
This nationally acclaimed festival is a consistent hit with music lovers, families, and seasoned festival goers alike. Famous for its complete lack of corporate sponsorship or branding, the event is now in it’s 16th year – having remained at the stunning Escot Park since day one.
The 38th annual Dartmoor Folk Festival took place in the beautiful setting of South Zeal, near Okehampton. The event has become revered by both those who live locally, and folk fans from all over Great Britain. 2015 saw headline performances from Jex Lowe and the Bad Pennies, Phillip Henry and Hannah Martin, and The Dovetail Trio.
This is the third year we have event managed the Enchanted Garden Ball. This annual student event happens at the beautiful Shobrooke Park with a lake as the backdrop. This year the clients, who are very hands on – producing much of the site art themselves, floated a large “EGB” logo into the lake which was then lit by our power and site lighting team of Sarah, Alli and Ellie.
We were very pleased to be asked to be the power contractor for Hijacked 2015. Our system design included a synchronised pair of 100kVA sets with a distribution system for the main stage and several other smaller systems. Some of the cable routes were challenging, even threading cables through trees to reach one of the bars. The site lighting consisted of over 400 metres of festoon and six tower lights.
